One of our internal pet peeves has been the less than optimal task categorization in Harvest, our internal, web-based time-tracking system. He had found the tasks to be arbitrary and unstructured. So one of our first process review actions was to refresh our default projects task, and align them more closely with the real components of the project, from sales to discovery, to design, to development, to delivery, content management and maintenance. Here is what we have so far. Already, this has proven useful and clarifying on a daily work-flow level. The other, longer-term goals of this refresh are to be able to produce more interesting and actionable reports and estimates.
